Who we are.
Business Takes Action (BTA) is a Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) initiative aimed at promoting the benefits of hiring qualified People with Disabilities to meet skill shortages. Funded by the Ministry of Community and Social Services (MCSS), BTA is mandated to ensure that organizations are equipped with up-to-date information on policy, legislation and tools to achieve excellence in accessibility and accommodation. We want to help your business remove the physical and attitudinal barriers associated with hiring People with Disabilities.
MCSS funds this initiative through the Employment Innovations Fund, established by the provincial government to facilitate in creating and expanding job opportunities for people receiving social and financial assistance.
CME was selected in 2007 to receive funding for the BTA project. Since our official launch in October 2007, BTA has connected with thousands of employers across Ontario.
Created for employers, by employers.
Today, BTA continues to hold workshops, seminars and forums in communities across Southern and Southwestern Ontario, educating employers about workplace accessibility, accommodation, new legislation, and other topics on the employment of People with Disabilities.
We provide information, tools, resources and networking opportunities.
Business Takes Action serves organizations in all sectors. Our members include small, medium and large organizations in the public, private and non-profit sectors.
There are now over a hundred committed Challenge Members and we are quickly growing. There is no cost to join, but there are plenty of benefits! Register today.
